A healing modality sounds a bit like a venue for healing or a special lego brick. But in fact it’s just another way of saying, it’s a style of giving healing or help to someone.
In recent years the number of different modalities has sky rocketed, with so many new ones being brought into being and taught around the world.
But why are there so many?.
I found one blog written a few years ago talking about 50 + different healing modalities. But they even have even more in their ebook.
While some modalities are things most people will have heard of for example, Reiki, acupuncture and reflexology, there are still plenty on the list that are new even to me, like Thymus thumping and Moxibustion.
Different healing modalities will work on different aspects of you, some may focus on your body, or your mind. Some can be used on your physical environment around you. But generally speaking as all these aspects as interconnected you will find that by working on one area it will have a knock on effect in other areas.
There are unfortunately still those out there to make a quick buck. Selling a system or product that will let you heal others for cash means some people are only out for themselves. When you’re exploring different modalities you should trust your gut.
If something doesn’t sit right with you, then give it a wide birth and stay away. You can also do you research read other people’s reviews about the person who “created“ the modality and ones written by people who have experienced it.
On the whole, I think it’s down to personal taste. We are all different with different beliefs. For example some people would struggle with “asking Angels” for healing, those with co-ordination, mobility or balance issues might struggle with some aspects of Yoga. But with soooo many options out there, there really is now something for everyone and if not then send up the intention and perhaps you’ll be inspired to start something new.
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter which modality you chose to work with, if it works for you then that’s great. If you receive healing, help, support, relief or release during this work than it’s done it’s job.
Use this blog to start your own Journey into Magic and explore different modalities that inspire you.
