Coping With Bad News

Release your worries / A Journey into magic

Getting bad news is never great, but how you deal with it can change how it effects you.
Sunday morning didn’t start the greatest.  I got a call from hubby – he’d gone off in my car to get the shopping.  And the car wouldn’t start.  He was 10 miles away in another town – luckily just round the corner from his Mum’s.  In the big scheme of things it could have happened in much less convenient place or time.  But having just moved house finances still aren’t great, so this felt like another set-back.  Or that I had brought it on us by letting a random thought of happiness cross my mind. After a night out with friends – I was feeling blessed and happy with my life and the move we’d made.  I felt that this was almost punishment for that moment of happiness.  But of course it wasn’t.  We aren’t here to be miserable.  We are here to learn lessons, to overcome “bad programming and beliefs”.

We are living a life of duality, to appreciate the good, we have to experience the bad.  Male vs female, light vs dark.  Sometimes it is straight forward.  Something is good or something is bad, but more often than not we live in the grey area in between with a little of both.

Into each life some rain must fall

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

On the whole I do live a charmed blessed life.  Occasionally things do happen that knock me back a bit.  But they give me things to think about, things to work on, to understand why I let them phase me.

  • Talk to someone – once I’ve ranted I often feel better again.
  • Count your blessing – whatever is happening it could be worse.
  • Play music to lift your spirits.
  • Ask your guides and helpers for help.
  • Deal with the problem in small steps – don’t get overwhelmed.  What can you do now – what needs doing later?.  Write a todo list and just take it one job at a time.
